Here is an update to my Lover’s Heart wood burning. I have added many layers of varnish and some paint to it since last update. The paint is to give it some color, color representative of a lover’s heart and to simplify the composition.

Baby Ali will be up as soon as I can get a new photo.

Wild Strawberry is becoming more and more dynamic as I paint more layers. It is fun watching my paintings take on personality and character.

The unveiling of Miss Mooney is quite a shock if you don’t know the ending. Miss Mooney

I dreamed this one up one stormy night when I needed more peaceful things to think about. Therefore, I set my mind to figuring out what would give me some comfort on this fitful night, Miss Mooney came to my mind, and I could never get her out. Now I am showing her to you.

I hope she will be as fun for you as she is to me and Baby Ali said to tell everyone Hello and that he will be revealing frame and all soon. Thank you so much for your interest and support.

Wild Strawberry is a new painting that I have started with dynamic geometric perspective that has a powerful dynamic to it.

 As always, I have tried to match vibrant colors with a cohesive theme that you will enjoy for years to come.

Baby Ali is finished now along with his frame and I will have him up in a few days so be looking for Ali to be on the blog again. He is my little brat.

Lover’s Heart is a wood burning that I’m working on that exemplifies the beauty and complexities of love through geometric shapes and color that I will add later. It is sure to be filled with passion. I have tried to create a flow that is pleasing as beauty is to lovers.

Holly grew up in La Fayette, Georgia. During her elementary and middle school years, Holly enjoyed art. Growing up, Holly dreamed of becoming an author of children’s books and illustrating her own pictures. She seemed to win any coloring contest she entered. 

Holly’s first year in high school was when she took her last art class. She started to think she didn’t have the art abilities everyone else did in her class, so Holly stopped enjoying art and would not draw or paint for several years.  

Holly went to Berry College graduating in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree. She was a psychology major and business minor. She continued her education by earning her master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  

While at UTC, she met Boyd Greene a wildlife and nature artist. Boyd got Holly into enjoying art again. She began to work on wood burning and started painting and drawing again.  

Today, Holly works as a Human Resources Manager and paints in her spare time for fun and relaxation.  

She plans to start using encaustics along with wood burning and acrylics in the future, as the medium really speaks to her and goes well with the simple and bold patterns she develops in her artworks.

Art to me is calming. It is a way for me to forget my day at work and get lost in a make believe world I call Neon Moss with fun characters that make me smile. I hope that my folk art brings joy to everyone that views it.
